Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw, also known as Elizabeth Alice MacGraw, is an American designer and author who has been awarded numerous prizes for her work. She advocates the rights of animals. Her work has received acclaim for her roles in films such as Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969) as well as The Getaway, (1972). New York was her home and she was raised in a creative environment. She started as a photography assistant and then turned to acting and modeling. She was noticed in her first two movies and won the Golden Globe Award for Most promising Newcomer. MacGraw's film Love Story proved a major success and earned her international notoriety, as well as the Academy Award' nomination and a Golden Globe award. In just three films MacGraw was named as the top female performer at the box office in history. In 1972, the Grauman's Chinese Theater signed her name with handprints, foot prints and handprints in 1972. Other credits include The Getaway Convoy Players, television miniseries The Winds of War and others. Moving Pictures is her autobiography, published in 1991. MacGraw's been married three different times.
